Synopsis

This production will feature two radio shows produced by the fictitious WAJC radio station whose staff and actors will present their respective plays while simultaneously navigating their interpersonal relationships. We begin with the kids of WAJC presenting their rendition of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” followed by the adults and their production of “The Bishop’s Wife.” This production will be the first in a new annual tradition that will offer a fun, family-friendly celebration of the holiday season.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

A New York newspaper reporter and a photographer sent on a Christmas Eve wild goose chase by their publisher's wife for two goats harnessed to a little red wagon, which she intends to give her nephews for Christmas. During a night-long search fueled by a few eggnogs along the way, the reporter and photographer run across the evening's most dramatic news stories.

The Bishop's Wife

Bishop Henry Brougham, having difficulties funding the building of a new cathedral, prays for divine guidance. His plea is seemingly answered by a suave angel named Dudley, who reveals his identity only to the clergyman. Dudley's mission turns out, however, not to be to help construct a cathedral, but to guide Henry and the people around him spiritually. Henry has become obsessed with raising funds, to the detriment of his family life. His relationships with wife Julia and their young daughter Debby are strained by his focus on the cathedral. As he continues his work, Dudley hints to Julia his desire to stay with her and not move on to his next assignment. Although Julia doesn't fully understand what he's talking about, she senses what he means, and tells him it is time for him to leave. With his mission completed and knowing that Julia loves her husband, Dudley leaves, promising never to return.
